The United States is short 7.2 million single-family homes

Our nation is suffering from an acute supply shortage of available and attainable homes, which is responsible for making housing more expensive, both to purchase and rent. America’s hardworking families simply can't find a place to live. The problem has been attributed to Wall Street investors and even Baby Boomers who refuse to downsize, but …the real problem is simple: rising demand and a massive supply shortage.

Through single family rentals, FFHA is providing access to existing homes and working to build new ones.

The Solution

There is an urgent need to build new homes and improve existing homes in communities all across the country. The solution requires all hands-on deck and a comprehensive national housing supply expansion plan that includes reduction of local barriers to housing expansion.

Members of the Alliance are part of this solution,

injecting capital and expertise into real estate markets, to spur development and innovation into the housing expansion mandate. They also embrace responsible business practices, promoting financial stability for families and access to quality affordable homes in desirable neighborhoods.
